The Setting Apart

It's hard to take a nice picture after we have all been crying!
Tonight was a wonderful evening.  Our Stake President, Pres. Anderson,  family and friends joined us in our home for Steve's setting apart as a missionary.  It was a wonderful blessing that Pres. Anderson, Steve, and Grandpa Charlie were able to give Steven.  Before the blessing we each took a moment to tell why we believe Steven will be a great missionary.  Kind, loving, easy to talk to, big hearted,  happy , fun, spiritual, hard working,  were just a few of the adjectives used to describe Steven.  As the blessing began and he was pronounced an Elder I saw a big grin across Steven's  face just like when he was 2.  (yes I peaked during the blessing)  Now he is officially Elder Maddox and he is chompin' at the bit to go! This is his last night in our home for the next 2 years...I hope he finds many homes along the way that he may feel comfortable in.  We will truly miss him in our home but we are so proud that he is willing to go and serve.  ~Lisa
